This is History - Don't F*ck It Up

IMAGE CREDIT: CNN Someday when we are all long gone, people are going to talk about us. We are making history here people. I hate that we are going to go down in history as "The TP Hoarders of 2020" - well, SOME of you will (myself NOT included). I bought toilet paper before buying TP was cool, you know...on a regular Wednesday at Costco before the shit show broke out! But I digress, we are literally making history...please don't F*ck it up. Try to keep your shit together!! The last time a pandemic happened in this country was 1918. I don't know about you, but I was not alive at that time, and I personally don't know anyone that was. But I don't recall reading about anyone losing their minds, stealing, looting, killing, mass hysteria...you know, the insane crap we do now. Keep it together people! We are being asked to stay inside, practice social distancing, only go out if necessary, and for the love of God stop hoarding necessary items. Just be ki...

I want a Corona - Hold the Virus, please

Wow. Just wow. Steve and I went to our local little Walmart last night and I could not believe what I saw, but I know that you have all been there too. You have all looked at the bare shelves and thought W...T...F?!?! Image Source: KOAA.COM Like, what in the actual....how did a respiratory illness equate to everyone buying up every single roll of toilet paper and every sweet morsel of Velveeta Shells and Cheese!!??! I am baffled, not by the panic or the fear of this pandemic - because I am a little fearful of getting sick, not so much so that I need to purchase all the groceries in the freakin' free world, but that people do not have enough supplies in their house to survive this. Does that make me weird? I have toilet paper, paper towels, pasta and meat. I have these things because I keep them in my house on the regular. You see, we have two teenagers, and trying to figure what to feed them, what they WILL eat, when they will be home to eat, and if and when they are b...

I am struggling a little tonight, but I'm trying.

I am at a loss, because of a loss. A friend of mine recently passed away suddenly. And when I say suddenly, I mean he was plucked out of his life in an instant. And I am still shocked. My heart hurts for his family, especially his daughter, but I also hurt for his wife. And I am not sure why, but I think this one changed me, just a little bit. My friend, was not much older than I am, and when he went to work, he had no idea that he was not going to come home that night. So, as I was sitting at home last night, I looked around our house, looked lovingly at Steve and said, "I am going to feel really bad for you if I die." Naturally he looked at me like...what the hell did you just say?! I know, it's a strange statement, but let's put some things into perspective. Seriously people, take a look around your house. I don't know about you, but I have accumulated A LOT of crap in my thirty (ahem) forty-something years! If something were to happen to me, who is goi...

Who loses shoes?

I was talking to one of my best friends today and I realized that I may not be hanging around with the right kind of people. Let me explain... I am VERY choosey lately who I let in to my circle. If you get to hang out with me and my friends...you're welcome! We are nothing short of spectacular, or at least I thought that we were. Until I saw this... Borrowed photo from The Wine Chronicles and from a text my friend Jill sent me! Now let me ask you this, who the HELL has ever just lost a shoe?  I have never been having so much fun that: 1). my shoe flew off  2). I said "ah, what the hell. I don't need it anyway!" I must care about my shoes far more than some of the other people out there! I would never leave one of my precious babies in the middle of the road to fend for itself. And I spend too much money on my shoes to just throw then around all willy-nilly! However, that being said...I could be convinced if (and only IF) I was having f...

Heavy Sigh - A New Beginning

It's bittersweet when you decide to move on to something new. I left something that I knew like the back of my hand and moved on to something new. My career in radio was something that I loved more than I could ever express, but when it's time to move on, you just know. And this time, I knew.  I made the very hard decision to step away from the microphone at Nash FM and try something new. I walked away TWO MONTHS AGO from one-half of the Cutter and Alisha Morning Show. Where has the time gone?? Over the years, I have had the opportunity to meet and see some of the most amazing artists from some of the best seats, and some of the worst seats (but at least I was in the building)! So here I am at the end of the year (almost) and I always get nostalgic and think back about some of the greatest moments, not only of the year, but of my career in radio. Some of the best moments that come to mind are: I sat side-stage at Gruene Hall and watched George Strait sing to a ...

I Just Went Through A Friend Divorce

This weekend I broke up with my two of my best friends, Gargoyle* and Ragnarok* (not their real names), and it felt pretty damn good! No, you know what, it feels great! At the time, it felt awful, but now I know they should have been dumped a long time ago! They have been using me for years. I always thought it was odd that they were always around when cool events or concerts were occurring and were always more than happy to go with us to everything IF we offered free tickets. I did invite them to go for free after all. However, anytime there was an event that we were going to that they would be required to BUY tickets...oddly, they had other plans, or were unavailable for some reason or another. I wrote this off as coincidence for the longest time, because after all, they were my FRIENDS. And friends wouldn't use you like that, would they? The answer is yes. Yes, they would and yes they do and yes they did. At least these "friends" did. Over the summer we drif...

Something Happened Today That Made Me Laugh Out Loud...

I won't go into super specific details because I have already been "talked to" about it by higher powers...but I will start with a story - that I am borrowing from a friend of mine.  A while ago, we had a major golf tournament in our city. The mayor of our city and our city council decided that it was a good idea to clear all of the homeless people out of the area while all the "fancy" people were in town.  Hmmm... Can you guess what happened as soon as the golf tournament was over? Yep. The homeless people went right back to where they were before the "fancies" came to town.  My friend lives in this neighborhood and we were talking about how odd that was, the cleaning out of an entire "community". But oddly enough, no one did anything else about the homeless population in the rest of the city...strange...anyway... The mayor and council of our fine city didn't want anyone to see what really happens and who really lives in ou...
